A Rubber Washer is a ring made of rubber used in mechanical devices. It is used to prevent vibration from spreading from one part to another, reducing the noise levels. Washer is flat rubber rings with center holes to accommodate fasteners or allow fluids to pass through. Rubber washers prevent leaks, protect surfaces, and dampen vibration in a variety of applications that is normally used to distribute the load of a threaded fastener, such as a bolt or nut. Washers are also important for preventing galvanic corrosion, particularly by insulating steel screws from Aluminum surfaces. They may also be used in rotating applications, as a bearing. A thrust washer is used when a rolling element bearing is not needed either from a cost-performance perspective or due to space restraints.
